year 1916
Graphite/Paper
33,5 x 23 cm
Drawing also known as You hurt me, granny!, as written on the lower side in capital letters. It is a copy of a decorative sheet of paper where a grandmother is brushing her granddaughter’s hair. The little girl is on her grandmother’s lap, who is holding her head with the left hand and brushing her hair with the right hand.
The graphite is combined with colour pencils which are mostly used to paint the little girl: blue colour for the vertical stripes of her dress, brown/ochre colour for her hair and other details of the dress, and yellow colour for the apple.
The drawing is signed on the lower right side as “A. López 1916”.
