Small graphite on paper work where the painter represents a cultivated land in the foreground followed by other fields in the distance created by horizontal bands instead of lines. The subtle masses of different grey tones help to describe the volumes of the landscape as well as the distance and temperature, as if a midday beating sun spreads throughout the scene.
