year 1934
Oil/Canvas
46 x 36 cm
Oil portrait on canvas where Juana González, his paternal grandmother, is represented. The figure is on a neutral background, as in many portraits, and is dressed in black with a kerchief on her shoulders.
The most remarkable technical aspect is the accurate range of colours and the colour harmony shown in this portrait, especially in the skin tones. But beyond its technical features, this painting became one of the artist’s favourites due to the depth of her gaze and the psychological baggage.
It is signed on the lower right part as “A. López Torres, 1934”.
Donated by Antonio López Torres in a public deed, 14.10.83.
