year 1931
Oil/Canvas
97 x 77 cm
Vertical oil painting where the artist displays some elements on a table: a silver tray with a crystal cover, a flower and two vases.
The painter describes those elements considering their texture and quality as well as their reflections on the silver tray. It is also important the control the artist shows when painting the different colour changes in the cloth’s embroideries.
However, the most interesting and original aspect is the masterful representation of the chiffon surrounding and slightly covering these elements creating different levels, transparencies and colour variations.
López Torres had just finished his studies in Madrid, so this painting could be the result of his acquired skills during his academic training.
The painting is signed on the lower right part and says “A. López Torres, 1931”.
