Vertical oil painting of a La Mancha field. The artist studies how the light influences the different levels; so in the foreground, where there are some stones and grass, the light contrast is bigger while it disappears as we look closer at the background.

A green mass of vines is represented in the third upper part of the composition and the fields behind them are depicted with subtle cold colours in great harmony. This colour control results in a scene with an atmospheric and vaporous background where the artist captures the temperature of the place by just using a colour study instead of glazing.

It is signed on the lower left part as “A. López Torres”.

Donated by Antonio López Torres in a public deed, 14.10.83.
